Domgate, a corporate and country-code top-level domain (ccTLD) registrar, has become the first provider to offer global registrations for Guinea’s newly launched .gn domain, following the country’s move to bring the extension under full national control.

Guinea formally assumed management of .gn on September 4, ending decades of administration by UK-based PSGNet. Oversight has been transferred to the National Agency for State Digitalization (ANDE), marking a key step in the country’s digital sovereignty and internet governance strategy.

Until now, Guinea’s online presence was limited to second-level domains such as .com.gn and .gov.gn. The availability of .gn as a direct ccTLD introduces shorter, more flexible domain options for businesses, institutions, and digital services. Domgate’s early support positions the extension for international adoption and enterprise-grade use.

Officials say the initiative aligns with Guinea’s “Simandou 2040” development plan, which places digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and e-commerce at the center of economic diversification.
