  • Registration Requirements : 

Generally speaking, no documentary proof is required to register a Second- Level ‘.hk’ domain name, except:

Applications sent in during the Priority-Registration Period: applicants are required to provide the completed declaration letter with a copy of the corresponding Trademark / Service Mark Certificates.

Applications for domain name consisting of or containing a reference to words like ‘bank’, ‘insurance’ or ‘assurance’ will require additional documents issued by relevant authorities. For details please refer to Documentary Proof.

 

Except .idv.hk which is designated for Individuals aged 11 or above with HKID cards, other 3rd level .hk domain names are designed for Hong Kong organizations. For overseas entities, please consider register Second-Level ‘.hk’ domain name which accept applications from organizations and individuals from both local and overseas.

 

Local contact is required for .com.hk domain name.

[Renewal]

* Is Early Deletion possible? After the domain is deleted or when it is not renewed, it will enter a 60-day Blackout Period. During that period the domain is neither resolvable nor available for registration. Under normal circumstances, the domain will be open for registration again right after the Blackout Period.

  • How to transfer? To initiate the transfer of a .HK domain name you will be asked to provide an authorization code (AuthID). You can obtain it from your current domain name's registrar.
  • You must also ensure that no protection against transfer is activated at the current registrar.
