Rules for Yemen

Registration:

1- The registration validity of domain names is one year, noting that the ISP provides the possibility of registration or renewal for three consecutive years.
2- The registration of a domain name may take about ten working days to be activated.
3- Registrants of domain names can be for individuals or entities.
4- The ISP doesn’t require the admin contact details, we just request the same for our owner records in order to be used in case of applying this by the concerned authorities in the future.

 


Requirements:
- Admin contact ID number is not required by the concerned authorities in Yemen.
- Application form is to be filled-in and signed by the local IP attorney of the registrant. Accordingly, the admin contact is not required to fill-in or submit any application forms.
- Protection of subdomains is not required in Yemen, only the main websites with .ye extensions are registered.
- There are no provisions in regard of Zonecheck in Yemen.

[Renewal]



- Late renewal is possible, and should be submitted within 30 days. In case of not submitting the renewal application on time, then the domain name will be deactivated and may also be removed from the ISP database.
- It is only possible to restore a domain name by filing a fresh application for the same domain name.
- A domain name can be deleted only by submitting a request to the concerned authorities indicating that the registrant is no more interesed in the domain.

[Other Rules]

- We do not provide IDN in Yemen.

[Transfer]


- Transfer of a domain name can be recorded with the concerned authorities upon submitting the renewal application of a domain name.
- The expiration date will be the same as the renewal date.
- There are no provisions in regard of Auth code and unlock TransferProhibited in Yemen.

[Owner Change]


- An owner name change for a domain name can be recorded with the concerned authorities upon submitting the renewal application of a domain name.
The following documents are required:
- A Power of Attorney in the new name legalized by the Yemeni Consulate.
- A notarized or certified change of name document.
