Forty (40) days after the date of expiry, the domain enters the renewal grace period. In the renewal grace period, the domain name is put on hold and ceases to function. You may still renew the domain during this period for no additional charge.
Restoration possible? After the renewal grace period, the domain enters a thirty (30) day period called the redemption period. In the redemption period, you may still renew the domain name; however you will incur a redemption fee to do so. After this period, the domain name is deleted and enters the available pool where anyone can register the name.
