Rules for SLDs (.com.bh,...):
1) What is the registration terms allowed? (ie. 1 – 2 years) - 1 Year.
2) How long does registration typically take?- 7-10 days from the receipt date of all required documents.
3) Are there any requirements to register a domain? –
Anyone can register, but local agent is necessary to pay for the bills. The requested domain name must be similar/identical to the applicant company name or the trademark owner by that applicant in order to avoid any possible rejection from the Registry.
The following documents are required:
1. A Power of Attorney signed by an authorized signatory of the applicant, legalized up to any Arab Consulate or up to an Apostille (form attached).
2. A request letter from the applicant in this regard (see draft attached).
3. Full particulars of the applicant (please fill in and return the attached information sheet
4) Is there any documents or information required from the registrant? – Yes, , please see above.
5) Can registrants be both individuals and legal entities? - Yes
6) Do domains automatically renew upon expiration? Yes. If so, can we turn this off? – No.
8) Do you require us to notify you ahead of time if we do or do not want to renew a domain? If so, how much in advance? – Yes, termination instructions must be received two months prior to the expiration date of the domain(s).
9) If a domain does expire, can it be restored? Is there a redemption period? Fees? – No, domain restoration after cancellation is not possible. It should be re-registered with all the required documents.
